John H. Winner

Mr Winner is president and CEO of HWTSK, Inc, a consulting firm specializing in the rail industry including operations improvement, mergers and acquisitions, privatization, finance, and restructuring.

He has spent some 30 years in rail industry management and consulting. He has provided due diligence for investors in financing transactions involving more than $15 billion in railway equipment, workshops, and infrastructure. He has managed rail industry consulting assignments all over the world, including most countries in Western, Central and Eastern Europe, China, South America, the Asia-Pacific region, and in the former Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States.

John was vice president in the Transportation Consulting Group at Mercer Management Consulting and was head of the rail management consulting practice at Booz, Allen & Hamilton. Prior to that, he worked for the L&N Railroad and later CSX in a range of operating and executive positions. For over a decade, Mr Winner was a contributing editor for Progressive Railroading Magazine where he wrote a monthly column, Smart Managing, aimed at rail industry executives and managers. He has a degree in Civil Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
