Lawrence Beal

Lawrence J. Beal began his career in the rail industry as an employee of the Chrome Crankshaft Company where he was employed for 25 years, serving as its president for 15 years. In 1984, he founded National Railway Equipment Co. (NREC), which in the last 24 years has grown to become the world’s largest independent supplier of remanufactured and new locomotives, new and rebuilt mechanical and electrical systems and components. NREC has fourteen facilities and affiliates encompassing over 300 acres and more than 1,600,000 square feet under one roof with a workforce of over 900 employees to service its customers throughout North America and worldwide.
