Marcus Yancey

Marcus Yancey serves as an Asset Manager of Railcar Planning and Procurement for Southern Company. He is responsible for the procurement, utilization, and asset management of the Southern Company railcar fleet which includes forecasting railcars, leasing rail equipment, and tracking railcars. The railcar fleet is approximately 16,000 railcars (mostly leased) and valued over $1 billion.

Marcus has 5 years of Southern Company experience. Prior to Southern Company, his experience includes finance, marketing, engineering, transportation, and real estate. He has worked for CSX, Fitel Lucent Technologies, Procter & Gamble, and NASA.

Mr. Yancey holds a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Science from Morehouse College, a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, and a Masters of Business Administration in Finance & Decision Science from Clark Atlanta University. He is also a Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) and licensed Mortgage Broker in Florida.

Marcus is from Atlanta, Georgia. He is married (Danielle) with a nine month old (Marcus, Jr.). His interest include: sports of all sorts, family & friends, real estate, and general business.
