We are proud to announce that our 2017 REF Charities designee is the Wells Fargo Veterans Emergency Grant Program, administered by Scholarship America.
Too often, an emergency medical expense, car repair or childcare cost threatens to derail students' pursuit of a degree. To help eliminate this crisis, the Veterans Emergency Grant Program provides emergency grants up to $1,000 to eligible veterans who are enrolled in postsecondary education -- and who experience unexpected financial difficulties that might cause them to drop out of school.
The Wells Fargo Veterans Emergency Grant Program was created by Wells Fargo in conjunction with Scholarship America in 2015.
Scholarship America is the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. With a mission to make postsecondary success possible for all, the organization has distributed $3.5 billion to more than 2.2 million students since its founding in 1958.
